Stage 1 · Lesson 8 of 8
What the rules mean for the people who build
For an engineer, most legal requirements turn into concrete work. Risk management means a living risk register tied to the system. Data governance means tracked sources, quality checks and in the pipeline.
means automatic logs of inputs, outputs and versions. Transparency means a notice in the interface and a . Human oversight means review screens, override buttons and alerts.
Accuracy and robustness mean evaluation suites run on every change. Security means the same controls as any system plus defences for model-specific attacks. Your job is to build these so the evidence appears as a by-product of normal work, not as a scramble before an audit.
Common trapwaiting for legal to hand you requirements; learn the source text enough to suggest controls yourself.
