Stage 2 · Lesson 3 of 7
Partners, development stores and client access
The Program is free to join. It lets you create development stores, where you build and test without paying for a plan. You can build a store for a client completely and then transfer it, so the client becomes the owner and chooses their plan.
To work on an existing store, you send a collaborator request from your partner account. The owner approves it with only the permissions you need, and can remove it later. This is called collaborator access.
Read the current rules for development stores and on Shopify's official pages, because the tools and names change.
Common trapasking a client for their owner login, which exposes their payments and customer data and leaves no record of who did what.
A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 1 cheat sheet entry come with the full roadmap. Unlock
