Stage 6 · Lesson 4 of 6
Teaching and helping others
One of the fastest ways to see your own ability is to help someone a little behind you. Explaining a concept to a junior, answering a question in a study group, or mentoring a first-year student shows you how much you know, and teaching also deepens your understanding.
It builds a different kind of confidence: not "I am the best", but "I have something useful to give". Look for small opportunities: a study session, a reply in a community forum, a short guide for juniors, volunteering at a club. Note what you helped with in your evidence file.
Common trapwaiting until you are an expert before helping anyone. Someone one or two years behind you will find your knowledge valuable now.
