Cost Explorer: grouping and filtering
is the interactive view of your cost and usage. You choose a time range and granularity (monthly, daily or hourly where enabled), then group by service, linked account, Region, , tag or cost category, and filter to narrow down.
It can show unblended, amortised and net costs, and it forecasts the rest of the month. Saved reports let you return to the same view each week. Learn to answer three questions quickly: which service grew, in which account, and which usage type inside it.
Common trapgrouping only by service, which tells you EC2 went up but not which team or which kind of usage drove it.
