Your first billing query
Once billing data is in a table, answers questions the console cannot: cost by tag and service for the last 90 days, the top 20 resources by cost, or week-on-week change per team. Start with three queries you will reuse: total by month and service, total by team tag including an "untagged" bucket, and top resources this month.
Check that your monthly total matches the before trusting any other query. on a laptop is enough for sample files; , BigQuery or handle real exports.
Common trapa query that silently drops rows with a missing tag, so the totals look smaller than the bill.
