Stage 5 · Lesson 5 of 6
Plan exams and deadlines backwards
For any exam or big deadline, start from the date and work backwards. List everything you need to cover or produce. Estimate how long each part will take, then add extra time, because people almost always underestimate.
Put the last week aside for practice tests and review, not new material. Spread the rest across the weeks before, with spaced reviews built in. For a big project, set your own earlier deadlines for each part: research done by week 2, first draft by week 4. Check the plan every Sunday and adjust.
Common traplooking at an exam six weeks away and feeling there is plenty of time, then discovering three weeks before that you have barely started and there is no space left for practice.
