Getting paid, records and safety

The payment service everyone online recommends may not work where you live. , meaning the routes money can take to reach you, vary a lot. does not operate in Pakistan or Bangladesh, for example.

Where it does operate, receiving money and fees can differ. Upwork notes that PayPal India may treat transfers as payments for services, with extra fees. is widely used for marketplace payouts, and Upwork offers it outside India and the US.

Wise supports many currencies, but what you can do with an account depends on your country. Check each provider's own country and feature pages, not a forum post. Ask local what they use.
