Freelancing

Stage 3 of 8 · 7 lessons · ~2 weeks

Your storefront

Set up the place clients find you, properly and within the rules: a complete Upwork profile, a Fiverr Gig with clear packages, or a LinkedIn profile, Service Page and portfolio that invite direct enquiries.

Start: How a Gig is built

Lessons· one lesson for each topic, in this order

  1. 1How a Gig is built
  2. 2Title, category and tags that buyers search
  3. 3Three packages that differ clearly
  4. 4Description and FAQs
  5. 5Requirements that start orders well
  6. 6Gallery images that show real work
  7. 7Profile, verification and payout method

Do this

  • Write a plain "I will" title using the words buyers search for.
  • Choose the most accurate category and use all five tags.
  • Set three packages that differ in deliverables, not only price.
  • Write a description that states the outcome first, plus FAQs.
  • Write requirements that give you everything you need to start.
  • Create gallery images from your own real work, readable as thumbnails.
  • Complete your profile, verify your identity and add a payout method.

Keep handy

  • Compare your Gig with the top Gigs in your subcategory before publishing

  • Clean gallery layouts around screenshots of your own work

Before moving on: A live storefront: a 100 percent complete Upwork profile with three portfolio items, verified ID and a withdrawal method; or a published Fiverr Gig with three clear packages, real gallery images and a payout method; or a client-facing LinkedIn profile with a Service Page, a service page on your site and a booking link.

Tauseef's advice
Set up one storefront properly rather than three halfway. Read the platform's own help centre, not a two-year-old video: Upwork and Fiverr changed fees, profiles and levels in 2025 and 2026, and old advice will cost you money.
