Freelancing

Stage 3 of 8 · 7 lessons · ~2 weeks

Your storefront

Set up the place clients find you, properly and within the rules: a complete Upwork profile, a Fiverr Gig with clear packages, or a LinkedIn profile, Service Page and portfolio that invite direct enquiries.

Start: Upwork title and overview

Lessons· one lesson for each topic, in this order

  1. 1Upwork title and overview
  2. 2A 100 percent complete profile
  3. 3One profile since Specialized Profiles ended
  4. 4Portfolio items that match job posts
  5. 5Connects and what they cost
  6. 6Project Catalog listings
  7. 7Verification and a withdrawal method

Do this

  • Write a title that states the outcome you deliver and for whom.
  • Open your overview with the problem you solve and your proof in two sentences.
  • Reach 100 percent profile completeness: photo, overview, history, skills and portfolio items.
  • Add your three case studies as portfolio items with accurate skill tags.
  • Verify your identity and add a withdrawal method that works in your country.
  • Set a monthly Connects budget and check how many Connects typical posts need.
  • Consider a Project Catalog listing for your productised service.

Keep handy

  • Look at profiles of freelancers who win work in your niche for structure, not wording

Before moving on: A live storefront: a 100 percent complete Upwork profile with three portfolio items, verified ID and a withdrawal method; or a published Fiverr Gig with three clear packages, real gallery images and a payout method; or a client-facing LinkedIn profile with a Service Page, a service page on your site and a booking link.

Tauseef's advice
Set up one storefront properly rather than three halfway. Read the platform's own help centre, not a two-year-old video: Upwork and Fiverr changed fees, profiles and levels in 2025 and 2026, and old advice will cost you money.
