Stage 1 · Lesson 5 of 6
The foundations that protect you
Before any technique, a few basics carry most of the weight. NHS guidance and the WHO stress guide come back to the same list: regular sleep, some movement most days, eating at regular times, time with people you trust, daylight, and doing some things you enjoy or find meaningful, not only things you must do.
During exams or a job hunt these are the first things people drop, and that is exactly when they matter most. You do not need all of them at once. Pick the one that has slipped furthest and fix it for two weeks. A 20 minute walk, a fixed wake-up time or one call to a friend each week counts.
Common trapwaiting to feel motivated before you start, because with low energy motivation usually comes after the action, not before.
