Knowing yourself: strengths, values and what you actually want

Stage 5 · Lesson 1 of 7

An energy audit

Your energy and how you work best

Time is not your only limit; energy is. For one week, at the end of each day, list your main activities and mark each with a plus if it left you with more energy, a minus if it drained you, and a zero if neither. Include study or work tasks, people, places, meals, exercise and phone use.

Be specific: not "university" but "group project meeting" or "lab with Ahmed". At the end of the week, look at the pluses and minuses side by side. You may find that one subject drains you while another energises you, or that certain people lift you and others leave you flat.

Common trapassuming that tired means lazy. Often it means your week is full of minuses you have not noticed.
