Stage 7 · Lesson 5 of 5
Network, community and your next permit
Build your network from the first month. Join local tech meetups and communities, keep in touch with the people who helped you move and find others from your home country who arrived a few years ago. They know which landlords, doctors and companies to trust.
Learn the language if it is not English, even slowly. Then note your status timeline: when your permit expires, what renewal needs, and what the path to longer-term residence is, such as in Germany, settlement in the UK, in Ireland or a Golden Visa in the UAE. Each has its own rules about time, salary and gaps, and they change.
Common trapassuming renewal is automatic, then discovering a job change or a gap reset the clock.
A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 2 cheat sheet entries come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
