Stage 2 · Lesson 5 of 7
Saudi Arabia: work visa, iqama and Premium Residency
In Saudi Arabia, the employer obtains a work visa for you through the labour and systems, and your is documented on , the Ministry of Human Resources platform for labour services. After arrival you receive your , the residence permit you need for banking, housing and almost everything else.
The company's band affects how easily it can get visas. Premium Residency is a separate, long-term permit that is not tied to one employer: holders can live with family, work in the private sector and change jobs (except roles limited to Saudis), and travel in and out freely.
It has permanent and fixed-term types and requires proof of financial solvency, a clean record and a medical report.
Common trapaccepting a job whose title on the visa differs from the work you will do, which causes problems at renewal.
