Stage 2 · Lesson 3 of 7
UAE: work permit and employment visa
In the UAE, the employer applies for your work permit with the Ministry of Human Resources and (MOHRE), registers your and arranges your entry permit. After you land, you complete a and biometrics, and your residence visa and are issued.
Free zone companies follow their free zone authority's process instead of MOHRE, with similar steps. The permit is tied to your employer, and changing jobs means a new permit. Ask for the offer and the registered contract to match, and keep copies of every document.
The UAE also offers for job seekers in some categories; check the current conditions on the official portal, and never pay an agent who promises to turn a visit visa into a job.
Common trapstarting work before the permit and residence visa are complete, which leaves you without legal protection.
