Stage 5 · Lesson 3 of 6
Practise with role-play
Hard conversations go better when they are not your first attempt. Practise with a friend, a sibling, or an AI assistant playing your parent, including the hardest things they might say: "We spent everything on you", "You are being selfish", "Your cousin listened to his parents".
Practise staying calm, repeating what you heard, and returning to the shared goal. Do it more than once, until the hard lines stop shaking you. Treat the AI as a sparring partner only: it does not know your parents, and you decide what is true.
Common trappractising only the easy version, where your parent agrees after two good arguments. Prepare for the version that hurts.
A question to check yourself and an AI practice session come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
