Stage 6 of 8 · 8 lessons · ~2 weeks

Delivering and earning reviews

Run each project so the client feels informed: a clear kickoff, regular updates across time zones, organised revisions, delivery the platform recognises, a clean handover and a review request at the right moment.

Start: A clear kickoff

Lessons· one lesson for each topic, in this order

  1. 1A clear kickoff
  2. 2Regular status updates
  3. 3Working across time zones
  4. 4Handling revision rounds
  5. 5Acceptance and final payment
  6. 6A clean handover
  7. 7Asking for a review
  8. 8Disagreements and disputes

Do this

  • Send a written kickoff confirming scope, dates, client inputs and communication.
  • Agree an update rhythm and send short status updates on schedule.
  • Work out the time zone overlap and state every deadline with a time zone.
  • Collect revision feedback in one list per round and flag out-of-scope items.
  • Deliver through the platform's delivery flow or against your written acceptance step.
  • Hand over files, code, accounts and a short guide, with accounts in the client's name.
  • Ask for a review or testimonial while the result is fresh.

Practise

  • Send each milestone invoice and a polite reminder when payment is late

Keep handy

  • Short recorded walkthroughs of drafts and deliveries across time zones

  • See your client's working hours next to yours before promising reply times

Also worth your time

Before moving on: One completed project run end to end with a written kickoff, at least two status updates, organised revision rounds, delivery the platform or your agreement recognises, a handover package and a review or testimonial request.

Tauseef's advice
Clients forgive a small delay they heard about early. They do not forgive silence. Short, regular updates and a tidy handover earn more repeat work and better reviews than being the fastest coder they ever hired.
