Stage 1 · Lesson 7 of 7
Values and voice
are what your posts should show again and again, such as honesty, clarity or helping beginners. Voice is how you sound: plain and direct, warm, or dryly funny. Together, voice and values make your posts recognisable even without your name on them.
They also decide what you will not do. Write down three values. Then write a short list of lines you will not cross: invented stories, , promoting things you have not used, and putting other people down to look smart.
Your voice should be close to how you actually talk to a colleague, because you will need to keep it up for months. To see this in practice, study ten people in your whose work you respect.
