What a low CGPA does and does not close
Be honest about the real effect. Some employers, scholarships and graduate programmes use a CGPA cut-off, and a low one will filter you out of those. Many others, especially smaller companies, startups and remote employers, care more about what you can show: projects, internships, open source work, a clear portfolio and people who will recommend you.
A CGPA also tends to improve if your later semesters are stronger, and an upward trend tells its own story.
Common trapeither pretending CGPA does not matter at all, or deciding your career is over at 2.5. Find out which doors are closed, then put your energy into the many that are not.
