Speaking and being heard

Stage 2 · Lesson 5 of 6

Asking in group chats and public channels

Asking questions in class and at work

Many teams prefer questions in a shared channel rather than private messages, because others can learn from the answer and more people can help. That can feel more exposing than a private message. Remember the same shape: context, what you tried, the question.

Include error messages as text rather than screenshots when you can, and say what you need: "Not urgent, any time today is fine." When you find the answer yourself, post it in the thread so the next person benefits.

Common trapasking one senior privately every time, which overloads them and hides your good questions from the rest of the team.

A question to check yourself come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
