Speaking and being heard

Stage 4 · Lesson 1 of 7

Clear stand-up updates

Meetings, stand-ups and online calls

A stand-up is a short daily team meeting where each person shares progress. A useful shape: what I finished, what I am working on today, and anything blocking me. Keep it under a minute and specific: "Yesterday I finished the login form.

Today I am adding validation. I am blocked on the API key; Sara, can we talk after?" Prepare it in two lines before the meeting, especially in your first weeks. Mention blockers early; hiding them to look capable is the most common junior mistake.

Common trapa long list of every small thing you did, or "same as yesterday", which tells the team nothing.

A question to check yourself and an AI practice session come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
