Stage 7 · Lesson 6 of 6
Keeping your support system over the years
Support systems change as life changes: friends move cities, graduate, marry, change jobs or drift. That is normal, not a failure. Keep the important connections alive with small, regular habits: a monthly call with an old friend, a message on birthdays and festivals, meeting when you visit their city, a yearly reunion.
Keep adding new people too, especially after every move. Every few months, look at your support map from stage 1 again and see which rings have thinned.
Common trapassuming the friends you have now will always be there without effort. Most friendships do not end in a fight; they fade from silence.
