Stage 7 · Lesson 1 of 6
Give and take
Relationships last when both people give and receive over time. That does not mean keeping score. It means noticing: do I only call this friend when I need something?
Do I ask how they are and remember what they told me? Small acts keep friendships alive: checking in before their exam, sharing notes, celebrating their news, showing up to their event. When you are going through a hard time, it is fine to take more for a while; good friends understand that balance shifts.
Common trapbeing only a taker or only a giver. Takers slowly lose people; givers who never let anyone help them end up exhausted and still feeling alone.
