Stage 5 · Lesson 5 of 5
Hiring rounds across borders
Hiring from abroad usually runs over video: a call, one or more technical rounds, a conversation about past work and behaviour, and a final round with the hiring manager. Expect questions you would not get at home. Why this country, how long you plan to stay, when you could start, whether your family will join and what salary you expect in local currency.
Prepare honest, short answers. Check the time zone of every invitation, test your connection and camera, and keep your ready. Some employers fly finalists in or ask for an on-site round; ask who pays before agreeing.
Common trapgiving a converted from your home pay, which is often far below the local range and can follow you into the offer.
A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 2 cheat sheet entries come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
