Stage 5 · Lesson 4 of 5
Scams and fake offers
Overseas job scams follow a pattern. An offer arrives quickly, often on WhatsApp, Telegram or a free email address, sometimes with no interview. Then comes a fee: for visa processing, a medical, "registration", training, a ticket or a refundable deposit.
Some fake offers use the names and logos of real companies or government departments. Others aim at your documents and bank details, or lure people into illegal work abroad. The rules that protect you are simple.
Never pay for a job or a visa. Check that the company and exist through official channels, the company's own website and its careers page. Verify any visa or work permit on the government's own portal.
Common trapbelieving that paying a little is normal "to speed things up". It is not, and once paid, the money rarely comes back.
