Stage 5 · Lesson 2 of 5
Where to search: the Gulf
Gulf tech hiring runs through LinkedIn, regional job boards such as Bayt, company careers pages and recruitment agencies. Government-linked companies, banks, telecoms and large groups hire many engineers, as do the regional offices of global tech firms in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh.
Government programmes and publish lists of companies they host, which make good target lists. Many Gulf employers prefer candidates already in the country, so some people visit to interview; do that only with savings and a clear plan, and check the current rules on the official site.
Common trapresponding to WhatsApp "Gulf job" messages and Facebook posts promising visas, which are the most common route for scams aimed at South Asian and African job seekers.
