AI video and design for clients

Stage 2 · Lesson 3 of 6

Shots, pacing and editing

Video fundamentals AI does not replace

Video is built from shots. A shows where we are, a medium shot shows a person and what they do, a close-up shows detail or emotion. is how long each shot stays on screen.

Short-form ads often cut every one to two seconds; explainers can breathe longer. Cuts should have a reason: a new idea, a new angle, a reaction. AI clips are usually 4 to 10 seconds long, so most of your work is choosing the best seconds and cutting them together, which is why an editor such as or sits at the centre of the workflow.

Common trapletting every generated clip run to the end because it cost credits, which makes the whole video feel slow.
