Stage 6 · Lesson 3 of 6
Compromise plans that respect both sides
A good compromise gives each side something real. Finish the degree your family chose, while building your own skills and portfolio on the side. Take a stable job in a related field for two years, then switch.
Study abroad, but in a country your family is more comfortable with. Work in your home city first. Join the family business part-time while you study design.
List several options between full yes and full no, and ask your parents which they could live with. A compromise is not losing if it moves you in your direction.
Common trapaccepting a compromise you already know you will not keep. That costs more trust than an honest no.
