Family expectations and your own path

Stage 4 · Lesson 6 of 6

Milestones your family can watch

Build your case with evidence

Parents relax when they can see progress. Build your plan around a few visible milestones: a certificate, a first freelance payment, an internship letter, a portfolio, a job offer. Put dates on them and share them.

When you hit one, tell your family. When you miss one, tell them too, with what you will change. Over months, this turns their trust from a single big decision into many small proofs. It also helps you, because you will know early if the path is not working.

Common trapgoing silent after the conversation. Silence makes worried parents imagine the worst, and the pressure returns stronger.
