Stage 3 · Lesson 3 of 6
Do you want it, or want to escape?
Sometimes the career we fight for is really a way out: of a subject we hate, of a home that feels controlling, of a city, of comparison with a cousin. That is human, but a plan built on escape is fragile, because the new path has its own hard parts, and you will need to love more than the fact that it is not the old one.
Test yourself: if your parents fully agreed tomorrow, would you still choose it? What would you do on an ordinary Tuesday in that job, and does that appeal?
Common trapdefending a choice so hard against your family that you never check whether you really want it.
