Stage 2 · Lesson 2 of 8
Running ten problem interviews
A is a short conversation about someone's problem, not about your product. Aim for ten to fifteen of them, 15 to 30 minutes each. Talk to people who match your , not classmates being kind.
Find them in the communities from the last stage, through people you know, or with short, honest messages that ask for advice instead of pitching. Follow a simple script: their situation, the last time the problem happened, what they tried, what it cost and what they would change.
Use rules throughout. Write notes in their words and look for patterns after every three calls. Interviews tell you whether the pain is real, which words people use and who decides on spending.
Common trappitching your product halfway through, which turns research into a sales call.
