Stage 7 · Lesson 8 of 8
Pace yourself and protect your health
A layoff is a real loss, and it is normal to feel anger, shame, grief or relief, often all in one week. Searches can take months, and rejections hurt more when money is tight. Treat your energy as a resource.
Keep a routine: regular sleep, exercise, a set time for the search and time off from it. Tell the people close to you, so you are not carrying it alone. Join a group of others searching, because comparing notes helps.
Keep a list of small wins: replies, calls, things you learned. If low mood, poor sleep or anxiety last for weeks, talk to a doctor or a ; that is a practical step, not a weakness.
Common trapworking on the search fourteen hours a day, burning out by week six, and making worse decisions because of it.
A question to check yourself, an AI practice session and 1 cheat sheet entry come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
