Stage 1 · Lesson 6 of 6
When it is more than a bad week
Sadness, anger and disappointment after a setback are normal and usually ease over days or a couple of weeks. Sometimes they do not. If low mood, hopelessness, poor sleep or losing interest in everything lasts more than two weeks, or gets in the way of eating, studying or working, that needs more than this roadmap.
Talk to someone you trust and to a doctor or counsellor, and read the Sefism roadmap on looking after your mental health at /roadmaps/mental-health/. If you ever think about harming yourself or feel you are in danger, contact local emergency services or a crisis line now; Find A Helpline lists free lines by country.
