Do this

  • Finish the Jumpstart path in Zapier Academy with a free account.
  • Build a multi-step Zap with a filter and Formatter steps (multi-step Zaps need a paid plan or trial).
  • Add Paths with at least two branches and a fallback.
  • Catch a webhook with Webhooks by Zapier and map its fields.
  • Write a small JavaScript Code step that returns a cleaned object.
  • Create a Zapier Table and a Form that feeds it.
  • Check Zap history and count the tasks one run used.

Practise

  • Ready-made Zaps by use case: turn one on, read every step, then rebuild it

Keep handy

Before moving on: A multi-step Zap that takes a form submission, cleans the fields with Formatter, filters out test entries, uses Paths to route by type, stores each lead in a Zapier Table and posts a summary to Slack or email.

Tauseef's advice
Zapier is the fastest way to get a working automation, which makes it easy to build something you do not understand. Test every step with real sample data and read what each step outputs. Learn early which steps count as tasks and which do not; clients will ask why their bill went up, and you should know before they do.
