Being a daughter with fewer freedoms

In many families, daughters get less room than sons: fewer choices of university, limits on travel, hostels, night shifts, working in mixed offices, or moving to another city. Some of this comes from real safety concerns; some from reputation and custom.

Many women build strong careers inside these limits and widen them over time, through remote work, a respected first employer, a trusted relative's support, or proof that they are safe and doing well. You may not be able to change everything at once. Pick the limit that matters most for your next step and work on that one.
