Focus, habits and time: get started, keep going, rest well

Stage 7 · Lesson 7 of 7

Your minimum routine

Rest, sleep and restarting after a bad week

Write down the smallest version of your routine that keeps you moving on your worst weeks: perhaps ten minutes of flashcards, one Pomodoro on your main project, a short walk, sleep by midnight and your weekly review. This is your floor. On good weeks you do much more; on bad weeks you do only the floor and count it as a win.

Having a floor stops a bad week from turning into a lost month, and makes restarting easy because you never fully stopped. Review it once a term as your life changes, for example during exams, a new job or Ramadan.

Common traphaving only one mode, the perfect routine, so anything less feels like total failure and you stop completely.
