Stage 6 · Lesson 6 of 6
Ask for feedback before it is forced on you
Feedback stings most when it comes as a surprise at the end: a grade, a performance review, a rejection. Asking early and often makes it smaller and more useful. Ask specific questions: "What is one thing I could do better in my next presentation?" is easier to answer honestly than "Any feedback?"
Ask people at a similar level as well as seniors. Show you can take it: thank them, act on one point and tell them later what you changed. People give more honest feedback to someone who uses it.
Common traponly asking people who will praise you, or only asking when it is too late to change anything.
