Handling rejection and setbacks

Stage 4 · Lesson 7 of 7

Keep applying while you wait

Internship and job rejections

One of the most common mistakes is stopping all applications because one company looks promising, then starting from zero when it says no. Keep the pipeline full until you have a signed offer. That also helps your feelings: when you have ten things in progress, one rejection is a small dent rather than the end of everything.

Mix where you look: referrals from seniors, alumni and online communities, company career pages, and job boards such as LinkedIn Jobs. Build in rest days too, because a search can take months.

Common trapthe boom-and-bust search: 40 applications in a panic week, then nothing for a month after the first bad news.

A question to check yourself come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
