Stage 2 · Lesson 2 of 7
Go to the same places again and again
Friendships form most easily where you see the same people repeatedly without having to plan it: a class, a lab, a hostel floor, a sports team, a society, a weekly study group, a gym, a place of worship, a volunteer project. Each meeting makes the next conversation easier, until one day you are friends.
So choose two or three regular places and keep going, even when it feels awkward at first. Sit in the same area, arrive a few minutes early, stay a few minutes after.
Common traptrying a new club every week and leaving each one before anyone knows your name. It is the third and fourth visit, not the first, where connection starts.
