Building your support system

Stage 3 · Lesson 2 of 6

An accountability partner

Peers who study and build with you

An accountability partner is one person you check in with regularly about goals, such as finishing a course, applying for internships, exercising or building a project. Once a week, each of you says what you planned, what you did and what you will do next week.

It works because you are more likely to do something when someone will ask about it, and because hard weeks feel less lonely when shared. Choose someone reliable at a similar stage, not necessarily your closest friend. Keep check-ins short, fifteen minutes is enough, and kind but honest.

Common trapturning check-ins into complaining sessions where nothing changes. End every check-in with one specific next step each.

A question to check yourself and an AI practice session come when you add the roadmap to your account. Add it
