Stage 3 · Lesson 4 of 6
Peers online
If your university or city has few people learning what you are learning, online peers can fill the gap. Course forums, Discord servers, open source communities and study streams connect you with people at the same stage across the world. To make it real connection, not only scrolling: show up in the same channels regularly, help others with what you know, share your progress, and move good conversations into a voice call or pair session. Some online friendships become close and long-lasting.
Common traplurking: reading for months without ever posting. People cannot connect with someone who is invisible, so say hello and ask one question.
