Stage 3 · Lesson 2 of 7
The night before and the day itself
The last 24 hours matter more for your state of mind than for your knowledge. Stop learning new material the evening before; light review of a summary sheet is enough. Get a normal night of sleep, because sleep helps you recall what you learned.
Eat something before the exam and arrive early so you are not rushing. In the hall, if your mind blanks, slow your breathing for a few breaths, read the whole paper, and start with a question you can answer to build momentum. If you panic mid-exam, put the pen down, press your feet into the floor, and breathe out slowly before you go on.
Common trapspending the last hour before the exam asking classmates what they studied, which mostly spreads panic.
