Admission dates, tests, merit formulas and fees change every cycle, and not all of it is published in one place. Every claim here is labelled with its source and how well established it is. Treat the university's own admissions page as the last word, and tell me when something is out of date.
- Official Published by the university, its prospectus, or a regulator such as HEC, PEC or NCEAC.
- Reported Described by several students or applicants, or by a news report. Usually right in shape, sometimes a cycle out of date.
- Unverified One person said this, or it came secondhand. Treat it as a hint and check with the admissions office.

Federally chartered public university in Islamabad (E-9, PAF Complex), established in 2002, with campuses in Kamra, Multan, Kharian and Karachi. It runs a large computing offer: CS, AI, Data Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security and related BS, MS and PhD programmes, admitted through its own computer-based test.

Bahria University
A federally chartered public sector university founded by the Pakistan Navy in 2000, with campuses in Islamabad (E-8 and H-11), Karachi and Lahore. It offers BS, MS and PhD programmes in computer science, AI, IT, software engineering and computer engineering.
COMSATS
COMSATS University Islamabad
A federally chartered public university founded in 1998 as COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, with campuses in Islamabad, Lahore, Wah, Abbottabad, Attock, Sahiwal and Vehari. BS Computer Science and BS Software Engineering are offered at all seven campuses, with AI, Data Science and Cyber Security at selected ones.

Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology
A privately funded engineering institute in Topi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, set up under a 1993 provincial ordinance. Its Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering teaches BS AI, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Science and Software Engineering, plus MS and PhD programmes.

A public university in Lahore established in 2012 under a Punjab law to focus on science, technology and engineering. It teaches BS Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Engineering, MS in Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity and Computer Engineering, and a PhD in Computer Science.

A public business school in Karachi, founded in 1955, whose School of Mathematics and Computer Science runs BS, MS and PhD programmes in Computer Science plus MS programmes in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

A federally chartered public institute in Islamabad, founded in 2002 around aerospace and space engineering. Its Department of Computing offers BS Computer Science, AI, Data Science and Software Engineering, an MS and a new PhD in Computer Science, and admits BS computing students on school marks without an entry test.

A public university in sector H-10, Islamabad, with separate male and female campuses. Its Faculty of Computing and Information Technology offers BS, MS and PhD programmes in computer science, software engineering, IT and data science.

National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences
A private, federally chartered, not-for-profit university with six campuses (Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Chiniot-Faisalabad and Multan), sponsored by the FAST foundation. It offers BS Computer Science and BS Software Engineering at every campus, alongside AI, Data Science, Cyber Security and Computer Engineering.

A public federal university headquartered in sector H-12, Islamabad, established in 1991. Computing is taught mainly at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS) in Islamabad, with engineering computing programmes at the Military College of Signals and the College of E&ME in Rawalpindi.

A public engineering university in Karachi, upgraded from a college set up in 1921, that teaches computing through BS Computer Science (with AI, data science, cyber security and gaming specializations), BE Software Engineering and BE Computer Systems Engineering.
UET Peshawar
University of Engineering & Technology, Peshawar
Public engineering university in Peshawar with campuses in Nowshera, Abbottabad and Bannu. Its BS Computer Science (with AI, Data Science, Cyber Security and other specialisations) admits on academic marks without an entry test, while Software Engineering and Computer Systems Engineering go through ETEA.
UET Lahore
University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore
Public engineering university in Lahore, chartered in 1961 from the former Maclagan Engineering College. Its computing degrees (CS, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, Cyber Security) are admitted through ECAT and taught at the Lahore main campus and at KSK, Faisalabad, Narowal and RCET Gujranwala.

University of Management and Technology
Private university in Johar Town, Lahore, chartered by the Punjab Assembly in 2004 and grown from the Institute of Leadership and Management (1990). Its School of Systems and Technology teaches BS Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, Cyber Security and IT, with CS, SE, AI and IT also offered at the Sialkot campus.
PU (PUCIT / FCIT)
University of the Punjab
Pakistan's oldest university, established in Lahore in 1882. Computing is taught by the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology (FCIT, still widely called PUCIT), with BS, MPhil/MS and PhD programmes in Lahore and computing departments at the Gujranwala and Jhelum campuses.
VU
Virtual University of Pakistan
Federal public university established in 2002 that teaches entirely online through recorded lectures and its VULMS learning system, with exams at campuses across Pakistan. It offers BS Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology and Data Science, computing associate degrees and an MS in Computer Science, with BS admission on eligibility alone and no entry test.
